Welcome to Historical Thinking

Welcome to Historical Thinking, a weblog dedicated to thoughtful discussion about the teaching and learning of history.  The idea of this blog is to engage is sharing ideas about the historical process: from researching, to writing, to crafting documentaries…as well as teaching history.

Here you will find links to high quality resources for historians and history teachers, discussions about how to teach historical thinking, themed discussions related to topics such as Atlantic history or the 1950s & 1960s (which have been the focus of NEHTA fall conferences), and other historical engagements somewhat idiosyncratic to my interests: early American history, the history of the book in New England, Native American history, Atlantic slavery, maritime history, and the history of the early American republic.

Join the discussion, post a comment, and engage!
